Proper bedding and supplies for your Rabbit:
nAs a general rule, you should not use cedar or any mixed shavings
containing cedar for you rabbit.
nCedar
shavings have been known to cause sleeping disorders among small animals and
could cause you rabbit to become ill resulting in death.
nMany
people prefer the scent of cedar shavings, but these are not the best to us.
For best results and for the safety of your pet, use only pine shavings or
straw for cage bedding.
nOther supplies:
nBefore bringing your new pet home, always be sure you have suitable
housing prepared.
nIt is a good idea to always disinfect cages, before placing a new animal
inside.
nYou
will need to be sure you have a water source, be at a water bottle or water
dish for you rabbit, along with an ample supply of food, hay and other
healthy treats.
nIf
introducing your rabbit into an environment with other pets, always be sure
to check for ear mites, fleas and ticks before introducing the animals.
nHaving on hand a good set of grooming tools is also a good idea.
nAlong with some rabbit toys for your new rabbit to play with.
nYoung
rabbit particularly young bucks love to play with toys and the introduction
of toys, will aid in the transition period.
